What is Veg Culture Network?

By informing as many people as possible about the merits and benefits of vegan food and linking producers and consumers, Veg Culture Network (VCN) is aiming to help create a society where it is easy to follow a plant-based diet. While promoting mutual understanding between people irrespective of cultural or lifestyle differences, VCN is working hard on a variety of projects including the following to help build a world where everyone can live comfortably without fear.

(1) Tokyo Vegefood Festa (at least once a year)

VCN holds Tokyo Vegefood Festa in Yoyogi Park to spread the word about everything vegan food has to offer. This event is VCN’s main project.

(2) Networking events (at least once a month)

Networking events organized by VCN are a great chance to meet all kinds of people interested in veganism. We hope to bring people together and help them get the most of life as a vegetarian or vegan.

(3) Seminars and other events (non-regular)

VCN organizes seminars where people can find out more about vegan food and related issues.
VCN hopes that these events will help stimulate business activities and social movements related to veganism.

(4) E-mail newsletter (at least once a month)

VCN sends information about vegan-related matters including products, books, restaurants
and other news to subscribers by e-mail.

(5) Newsletter (four times a year)

Newsletters feature reports about VCN activities, interviews with vegetarian celebrities,
information about vegetarian restaurants and vegetarian recipes.

Committee Members

Many volunteers, including the members of Veg Culture Network,
are working hard to ensure that the event will be a success.

Hiroki Osada, Chair, Tokyo Vegefood Festa 2012 Organizing Committee

Your choice of food represents how you live your life. In other words, you are what you eat. I think vegan food will give us all a few hints about how we should live. Please try some of the food on offer. I am sure you will love it.
Koji Takahashi President, Veg Culture Network
Koji Takahashi
Veganism has finally become slightly more mainstream. A number of artists, models, actors, athletes and other trend setters follow a vegan diet to improve themselves, and veganism is showcased in the media as a way of losing weight while enjoying yourself at the same time. As a result, veganism is now seen in a different light as a detox method and as a way to protect yourself from modern ills and the effects of pollution. I would like to lend a hand in bringing together people involved with veganism and help them be happy.
